The development of seamless steel pipe production technology has experienced three major stages

Page view:

In the more than 100 years since the Mannesmann Brothers invented the cross-roll piercing process, the development of seamless steel pipe production process technology has experienced the following three stages:

1. From the 1980s to the 1930s, in the past half a century, there have been periodic pipe rolling machines (1892), pipe jacking machines (1899), continuous pipe rolling machines (1901), Seven steel pipe production processes including automatic pipe rolling machine (1903), Diesel pipe rolling machine (1932), three-roll pipe rolling machine (1937) and extruder, all of which have the maturity of industrial production, It was gradually finalized. At that time, automatic pipe rolling mills and periodic pipe rolling mills were widely used. Steel pipes produced by pipe jacking machines and three-roll pipe rolling mills accounted for only a small proportion, while continuous pipe rolling mills and Diesel rolling mills However, there is no development of the control machine.

2. In the period of about 40 years from the 1940s to the early 1980s, fully floating mandrel continuous rolling pipes have been greatly developed, which can be put into operation from two rolling mills in the United States and two continuous rolling mills in Germany. evidence. The commissioning of the MPM tube rolling mill at the Dalming Bergamo Steel Pipe Plant (1978) and the semi-floating mandrel continuous rolling mill at the Hachiman Plant (1983) marked the development of the continuous rolling process and the coexistence of three continuous rolling processes. . During this period, the development of the seamless steel pipe production process is also manifested in the development of the jacking process into the CPE process, the widespread application of the tension reduction technology, and the continuous casting of round billets successfully used as raw materials for rolling tube production.

3. In the twenty years since the early 1980s, the three-roll tube mill and the Diesel tube mill have been improved, and new three-roll tube mills and Accu-roll mills have emerged. In addition, three-roller planetary tube mills (1982), GPS technology (1989) and PQF technology (1993) also appeared. It should be pointed out that the comeback of the cone roller piercer is a major breakthrough at this stage, and it will have a huge impact on the future development of seamless steel pipe production technology.
